In 2006, a film called “The Secret” was released to DVD format, later followed by a book written by Rhonda Byrne, which discussed the law of attraction and how it increases ones’ health, wealth, happiness, and overall quality of life. It was so inspirational and encouraging that Oprah Winfrey dedicated two episodes of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ to discussing the DVD and the laws of attraction.
In the New Thought Movement, strongly influenced by Thomas Troward, the thought was that “the action of mind plants that nucleus which, if allowed to grow undisturbed, will eventually attract to itself all the conditions necessary for its manifestation in outward visible form”.
So in other words, you think negative and negative things will happen, but if you think positive then more positivity will flow your way. That philosophy is, more or less, the law of attraction.
Although there are no scientific studies to prove this thesis, according to “The Secret”, throughout history there have been very successful people who have harnessed the power of the law of attraction. It is described as a power because the theory is that as we think (or feel) an emotion that emotion puts out a frequency or type of energy into the universe that then brings us back events and situations carrying that same energy or frequency.
Maintaining a positive energy is also viewed as a value in any belief that associates with, or is birthed from, forces from within, and / or from, the universe itself. There are circumstances in our lives that will tempt us to reply negatively or change our decorum. These situations can happen more than once or twice in just one day. If we refocus that negative energy into the implementation or production of something positive, the end result will be bigger and better for our lives in general.
The movie and the book “The Secret” is highly recommended by many successful men and women. Applying the theory discussed in the book towards our life will most likely increase productivity and even the quality of our work, as well as our lives.
What are your thoughts on the law of attraction? Have you tried it? Did it work to your advantage? How so? Do you plan to attempt to use it to improve the quality of your work or life? Let me know, I’d love to hear your experiences!
